FOR THE CHURCH, FOR THE WORLD

SIEZE THE MOMENT

There are a lot of things in my life that are on hold. Dreams that are collecting dust on a shelf and ambitions that everyday seem to be getting further and further away and there's no one to blame but myself. Every year that passes is a reminder of how fast time disappears. So here’s my plan to seize the moment and get the most out of life this year.

1. Make it simple

The most complex task begins with one simple step. Don't let the big picture scare you -  instead simplify it. Ask yourself, what should I do first? Fill out the application, have the conversation, book the trip, save the money. Don't over think it, simplify it.

2. Make it happen

Sometimes I confuse waiting on God with doing my part. Yes, things should happen in God's timing but that can't be our excuse for being indecisive. The false security of not making choices often reveals itself in regrets. Whatever it is you have been thinking about doing forever - do it, because forever is getting shorter everyday. Don't talk yourself out of it- make it happen.

3. Make it count

The things that I am unsure about I don’t do my best at. And I think this might be due to the fact that if I fail I can fall back on the idea that it wasn’t my best. But not doing our best is already accepting defeat before we begin. We are secretly telling ourselves that we do not have the confidence that it takes to be successful. In almost every sport there is a follow through. In football you follow threw in the pass, in baseball, golf and tennis it's in the swing, in basketball you follow through by flipping the wrist. In life we follow through by putting in our all and making it count no matter how insecure we feel.

Go ahead and seize the moment!

How do you plan to seize the moment this year?
